Intercultural Communication and Health

Cinco conducted a study between 1997 and 2000, which included a survey in multiple clinics on the topic of "Intercultural Communication in Clinics." The pilot project was carried out in Germany, England, and Italy and was funded by the European Commission. The goal was to improve communication with patients from other cultures in clinics and other health facilities. Zahra Ghaeni subsequently published the book "Sick in a Foreign Land – Intercultural Development of German Clinics.

World Bridges in School

World Bridges in School (2015 to 2018)

With the arrival of many refugees in Germany in 2015, there was a great need for intensive classes in schools. We supported the teachers of these intensive classes with supervision and workshops on the topic of “trauma and emotional wounds in children” in order to assist them in helping refugee children learn the German language and integrate into school life. Their parents were also supported through migration counseling in their native languages and psychotherapeutic group sessions.

Exhibition in Frankfurt (1999):

The study resulted in an initiative where children treated at the Frankfurt hospital were asked to paint their "dream hospital". A jury selected the best pictures, which were awarded prizes. These pictures were presented in an exhibition in Frankfurt. At the award ceremony, the children, their parents or the director of the Frankfurt Health Department, and representatives from the political sphere were present.

Exhibition in Tehran (2000):

We organized an exhibition in Tehran to show the pictures of sick children from Germany and Iran. The children in Iran who were treated at a hospital in Tehran were also asked to draw their dream hospital. 10 of the best pictures were selected by a jury in Tehran. All participating children received a prize and celebrated the opening of the exhibition of pictures by Iranian and German children together.

The notes are arranged in a grid and each one has a word or phrase related to company values, such as 'Culture', 'Vision', 'Diversity', and 'Respect'. One person is gesturing towards the board, wearing a blue sweater, while the other is observing attentively, dressed in a red jacket.
